MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

This will be an exciting year for the Aurora Chamber of Commerce.  The Chamber of Commerce is firmly committed to ‘the future’ and we have developed a new strategic plan, a living document, which will take us to 2016. What does ‘the future’ mean?  It means embracing technology, diversity and offering ‘the best’ to our members.

Our vision is Aurora business people learning, living and thriving together.   We will focus on fully understanding the diverse needs of our members, creating and delivering high-value programs and services, and building technology and financial infrastructure to properly serve our membership.

Although Social Media is an important part of our lives, I believe real social interaction is crucial.  We thrive on the thoughts, ideas and emotion of those around us. We learn what inspires and motivates us, and others.   Networking is a critical part of doing business and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce offers many opportunities for members to network.  The Business Achievement Awards is a high profile event where local businesses are acknowledged for their success.  The Home Show is a great opportunity for many members to showcase their business.  Along with the popular Street Festival, Golf Classic, networking breakfast meetings and educational opportunities, the Chamber offers something for everyone.

Aurora has a vibrant, active business community which continues to amaze me.  It is exciting to see business and personal relationships develop between members.  We have welcomed many new businesses this past year, many eager to become part of the Chamber of Commerce, and become actively involved.

I want all of our members to know that the Aurora Chamber of Commerce is here for you.  We are a business information network. We are an influencer, an educator and an advocate in York Region.  Our membership is a vital part of the Aurora community.  The Chamber staff is ready and willing to assist you in any way.

It is truly an honour and privilege to serve you as President of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, and I look forward to seeing you at our great events.  Along with the dedicated Board of Directors, the Executive Director and the Chamber office staff, I welcome your input. Please feel free to email me at president@aurorachamber.on.ca.

Sincerely,
Robin Taylor-Smith
